Trying to catch up on the thoughts of everyone re. the Forum. I am happy to maintain the Status Quo or as near as and contribute in some way.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I am hearing you all loud and clear - you want this forum to remain as it is if possible.
So… I’m proposing a way people can contribute without any messyness.
I’ll set up a page on Patreon that will allow anyone to sign up and commit to a monthly contribution of their own choice. As long as we hit the target payment each month then I’ll continue to handle payments to the provider. If it dips down then we can discuss.
Contributors will get a special role here and access to a private category.
There’s a suggestion that the board becomes member only. I’m happy for contributors to discuss that and make a decision at that point.
I’ll make sure the provider is paid this month anyway. Future contributions will be on the 1st if each month (that’s when Patreon does its payment cycle). Once it’s set up I’ll pin a new topic with details.

There is no option on that point for me : if this forum was meant to disappear from public eyes, then it should. And if it stays alive, for, and with us, then it has to turn private.

What happens with the URL and Forum name/links to the shop etc? All that will be changed presumably?
I’ll check with Fish. As long as he keeps the domain, then I’m sure he wouldn’t mind the subdomain being used.
It’s easier on people’s wallets, and would be automatic. It seems the easiest approach.

Patreon will be whatever it gets called. It’s just a means for everyone to contribute.
If Fish decides to let the domain name lapse, then we could pick it up.
For now, I’ll try to keep it “as is” as much as possible. I’m all about simplicity
