Well done Liverpool definitely think they deserved it, not a great match, but each team knows each other so well that it was hardly going to be an open ended game.

Although I’m not a Liverpool fan i am pleased they won it and Klopp has silenced his doubters now, he deserves it so much, not many managers like him about that wears his heart on his sleeve for the club.

IMHO a deserved win for LFC and Jürgen Klopp. The match wasn’t one for the audience, for the spectatores, for the TV couch potatoes, for the football lovers. At the end a win at the end of the season 2018/2019! Congratulations!

We’ve signed Chris Cadden (on a season long loan from Columbus Crew) and Alex Gorrin. Both were at Motherwell last season … any good?

Cadden is class, Gorran was ok but we only had him for a season

Who’s we ?

We (Cardiff) have just bought your defender, Curtis Nelson. Any good for Championship level ?

In your neck of the woods next weekend for a friendly against Milan at the Millennium.

He should do ok if given a chance. It’s obviously a higher level than he has previously played but he was outstanding for us. He was club captain until he declined negotiation for a new contract. He then got injured but it was no coincidence that our rise last season from certain relegation to top half was at the same time he came back from injury. I hope he does well for you. He is only 26 so is a perfect age with good experience. He will only get better playing in a team with higher caliber players around him.

He’s fucked then

Looks like you are now buying Gavin Whyte too. Another star player of ours, Northern Ireland international. :disappointed:

Signing has now been confirmed by Cardiff.

Yep. Just read it on our website. Bollox.

You’ve signed Ben Woodburn from Liverpool on a loan.
Good player who has shown potential, but seems to have gone off the boil a bit last season.

Welsh international, was on loan at Sheffield Utd last season. Hopefully he can find the form that made him such a big prospect at Liverpool a couple of seasons back. :crossed_fingers:

I’m just hoping Villa’s 100million+ spending spree works out, though would be happy if we manage to stay up this season, most of what we’ve spent though is to fill spots where we’ve released players or had loaned players returned

First game of the season on the lash and stopping the night in Cardiff :beers::soccer::yemen::+1:

A great start today … if it wasn’t for ref, worst we’ve had this season :joy:, we would have taken all 3 points.

@Mwelljester Both Gorrin and Cadden were class today according to the commentary and post match reports. COYY

A pretty non event for us yesterday for the start of the season, and 0-0 draw away from home.
On the bright side we kept a clean sheet and a point away from home on a plastic pitches is a plus as we never play well on those surfaces, imho they have no place in professional football, should kept for sport centres and the like.

Pity they still don’t have the cup finals here, still a very impressive stadium in Cardiff, even with the roof shut yesterday.
