Unfortunately, I didn’t get the job. It’s always a bad sign when it turns out you’re up against internal candidates.
A bit of a blow, as I had high hopes for this one, but something will come up…

Chin up and keep trying. As you say, when internal candidates are involved, it’s normally a stich up with companies having to follow guidelines as to who they interview but knowing who they want to fill the post.
Keep trying and hopefully you’ll be rewarded very soon.

It’s the same where I work Mik and is so frustrating, regardless of your ability and knowledge , as long as you kiss ass with the right people, you’ll always get on and get promotions, well I don’t !!
So unless I move company, my job prospects will stay the same.
