Was myself who gave the opinion on The Optimist, not Andy. I think of all forum members Andy seems to be the one who enjoys it the most.
I played it again yesterday but to me there’s something missing (or maybe just sounds too similar to previous output). I’ve tried, and have given it plenty of plays but it’s still not doing it for me.
I like it a lot yes, but also agree with your points .
I’ll be going to see them twice in a couple of weeks so its gonna be interested to see the songs live , maybe they’ll come across better as I firmly believe they are better in the live experience
