Very laid back , gonna take a few listens.
Genesis - Seconds Out
…Listened to so much Genesis this past week, it’s been ridiculous. I know I’ve said this before, but as much as I love the creativity, depth and performance of Gabriel era, for me there is a real magic happening between Trick Of The Tail and Duke. Those albums are almost flawless, musically and with Collins’ crystal clear delivery. Stuff like Undertow, Ripples, Mad Man Moon, One For The Vine, Heathaze, Blood On The Rooftops, Afterglow, Guide Vocal, Please Don’t Ask. - Not sure how many of these tracks could be classed as classic ‘Prog’, but they’re just great melodic pieces of music.
…Just as a side thing, I occasionally think about Genesis alongside Pink Floyd, as being at the pinnacle of British Prog, albeit coming from different directions musically, and wonder who out of the two I would love to see reform and play live. I listen to both, but it would be Genesis without question.
