Whats your much valued opinion Steve ?
I like it - a lot. Though it’s taken me a few listens to really start appreciating it.
It was a bit strange initially. I normally prefer the longer, more proggie songs of Marillion, yet i felt that this album (even thought i did like it) was just music meandering a bit too much with no real songs at all.
Though having said that, i think that everytime i’ve played it since, i’ve enjoyed it a little bit more each time. Definately a grower.
What i’m really enjoying at the moment is the ‘instrumental’ version which came as part of the cd/dvd ‘pledge’ package. I didn’t think i’d ever listen to this more than once, being nothing more than a novelty, but it’s absolutely superb (and you don’t have to listen to Hogarths annoying ‘S’ pronounciations).
Really looking forward to the Cardiff gig in December to experience the album live.
