Now then! I was asking my dad tonight about reminiscing the places he had worked at that took him from Germany to France via Brussels and Amsterdam, working alternatively as a confectioner and a cook, and he remembered how he got his first job in England, with the help of a certain Mr Paul Gough, who was a Marzipan expert for a company called Renshawâs (you wonât have heard of it unless youâre in the trade) but anyway, I googled his name and this little clip from the early fifties came up!
This guy got my Dad a job at a confectionerâs in Finchley in 1959!
