Puddles Pity Party was the opening act for The Eels in Copenhagen April 2013 when I saw The Eels live for the first time. Lots of fun and happy memories. Thanks for reminding.

Don’t come too near?
Oh maybe yes. This would make sense in this text.
I think dinny is a Scottish way of saying don’t, but I could be wrong. I’m sure Lawrie would know.
