I ordered a copy this afternoon from the band’s US store. Even after adding the cost of shipping, it was cheaper than buying from Amazon. ![]()
Don’t know if you’re interested in reading this Mike? Didn’t know where to put the link. Put it here because it mentions a book out in 2026.
‘Woodcut’ - Big Big Train (Feb 2026)
‘We are happy to announce the release of our 16thstudio album via InsideOutMusic on 6th February 2026. ‘Woodcut’ is a landmark release for us in that it marks our first ever full-length conceptual piece. ‘Woodcut’ is a continuous narrative exploring creativity, sacrifice and the thin line between inspiration and madness.
We are also pleased to reveal the first single from the album, ‘The Artist’, which is accompanied by a stunning video created by Crystal Spotlight.
Gregory Spawton comments: *“*Woodcut tells the story of a character we call The Artist, who is struggling with his creativity and with life. One day he is able to fashion a woodcut which he considers to be beautiful and different. Maybe it’s a dream or maybe it’s real life, but he finds himself stepping into the woodcut scene and into an alternative world.”
Featuring 16 tracks over the course of 66-minutes of runtime, ‘Woodcut’ feels epic without outstaying its welcome. From the intimacy of ‘Inkwell Black’ to the grandeur of ‘Counting Stars’, ‘Woodcut’ is a defiant analogue statement in a digital age—a handcrafted, deeply human exploration of art, faith and endurance.’
I’ve preordered 3 different versions of this album, so I’m pleased to see it’s getting some good reviews!
Well, I’m counting the digital version as one copy.
Loads of new releases to listen to tomorrow:-
Elder - Through Zero
All Them Witches - House of Mirrors
Devin Townsend - The Moth
Bjorn Riis - Lifandi
Neil Young - As Time Explodes
Might be of interest to some on here. Not cheap but it’s over 500 pages.

Eels release a new album “Cookie Happened” October 16th and here’s a new song which I love so much already.
Pattern-Seeking Animals - Grimalkin
(CD & Marble Stone-Grey LP)

What is a “grimalkin” you might ask? Well, it is the 16th-century English variation of “graymalkin” (gray cat) and was later popularized by Shakespeare’s Macbeth as the name of one of the witches’ familiars, a cat companion with magical and supernatural associations.
It is also the name of Pattern-Seeking Animals’ upcoming sixth album. It is eight songs with a few different musical directions, production approaches and instrumentation. Due out August 21.
“It is unmistakenly P-SA and that’s a good thing”.
I’ve yet to meet a fan of the debut album, but hopefully those other early albums will get the same treatment as this. Big fan of Cherry Red Records.
