Some gigs coming up

Chantal Mcgregor on Tuesday night at the Robin2. Her new album is less blues than before and a wee bit proggy in places

Filling up slowly but surely. There’s another 2 hours yet.

Say hello from me to our compadres. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve been looking at what gigs are coming up this year at local venues and I’ve started noticing this thing about ‘levy fees’, on top of ticket costs and booking fees. WTF is all that about? Are gigs not expensive enough?

I was just charged a fee for the promotors to email my ticket to me. This always used to be free to discourage the need of posting a paper ticket but everything has a price these days.

Yip. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

I looked into levy fee and it’s something to do with upkeep/maintenance of the venue.

Like if you go shopping at a supermarket and you get charged an extra fiver so the roof doesn’t fall off.

Think I heard the ‘Lettin Loose’ album back in the day and enjoyed it. Other than that - no idea.

" Lettin Loose " was followed by " Rock Aint Dead. " Both were solid albums before things went a bit tits up and they were involved in Eurovision! Then a few years later their last album which wasn`t very good, was " The Big Bang. "

Yeah, listened to a few recent clips on YouTube and thats what made me decide. I vaguely remembered them from bk in the day as well then obviously the way it went lost track. I also remember the band “Glasgow” vaguely but can’t remember where from think theyve supported a few bigger bands in the past as for the other 2 nothing of note except i remember seeung a quote " to look out for “juliets not dead” maybe from the review mag “Fireworks & Metal” which i have started buying because of the amount and indepth reviews in it.

Btw this is the first of 5 gigs ive got booked for this year so far lol…

Another gig booked up.

“Collateral” & “Juliets Not Dead”
at the Cathouse, Glasgow
Sat 6th September :guitar::guitar::metal::metal::beers::beers:

Thats 8 gigs this year counting the 2 previous Fish Farewell gigs at the Academy.
Cant remember the last time i done as many in one year lol… still time for more :guitar::guitar::metal::beers::rofl::rofl:

I would have done “Juliets not dead” at Bannermans in Edinburgh on 5th Nov but being a Wed night Edinburgh is cunt to get bk from by train now for me as it almost involves 1 change now where as in the past it was direct and the fact i am up at 5am next morning for work.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could find something in Glasgow or Edinburgh next year we’d all fancy going to?
