Hi Fish, my brassicas (purple sprouting) took a bashing from caterpillars last year. They were completely defoliated and I left them in the ground rather than being tempted to bin them. Small new growth came before winter shut down and new growth galore appeared the following spring (this year) with superb ‘heads’ of purple sprouting. Same thing has happened this year with defoliated plants currently staring at me with small new growth appearing now. Will wait to see if next spring brings more …
