Mike oldfield album box set 1992-2003 and amorak.
The Waterboys - Modern Blues
Well i’ve had 40 years with The Psychomodo, and only 40 minutes with Quality Of Mercy so not really fair to compare, but QoM is certainly different - and not in a good way. Bits reminded me of safe, old bloke music, like a Chris de Burgh album. Though i heard enough that i like to persevere so will give it a few more spins before dismissing it.
I’ve loved Psychomodo for such a long time that it’s got a lot to live up to.
I enjoyed it a lot, but the album is what it is. Middle-aged blokes playing well-constructed and catchy ‘safe’ rock. Does it have the art and creativity of Psychomodo? Absolutely not, but then I would never have expected it to. - For me, it was fun and affecting.
Ray Davies - Other People’s Lives
…as good an album as he ever made with The Kinks.
