Fine song! Not getting along with the last 2 Waterboys albums, I’m afraid. I thought Modern Blues was the best he’d done since Dream Harder (although I’m quite fond of his first ‘solo’ album), but I just don’t go back to Out Of All This Blue, and have only listened to Where The Action Is once.

I need to listen to the last 2 albums again.
My favourite in the recent albums has to me an appointment with Mr Yeats which I love to death. I find it incredible and the two live performances I went to during that tour remain in the top ten gigs I’ve ever been to!!

I can’t remember where I’m up to with Waterboys albums. I bought Modern Blues, but how many have they released since then? I hardly ever buy new albums as soon as they’re released anymore. Same with Springsteen. I’ve completely lost track of where he’s up to.

Just those 2 WB albums since Modern Blues. As far as I’m concerned, Springsteen’s output’s been really patchy since Born In The USA (which, in my opinion, is hugely underrated because it suffered from saturation play) - The Ghost Of Tom Joad (1995), The Rising (2002), and High Hopes (2014, and largely featuring Tom Morello) are all good, but I can take or leave the rest. Don’t like what little I’ve heard of his latest (Western Stars).

Born In The USA is honestly my least favourite Springsteen album.

Devils And Dust is my favourite, apart from his very early ones obviously.

I just don’t go back to Out Of All This Blue, and have only listened to Where The Action Is once.

I have same feelings with Out Of All This Blue. Too much miscellaneous material. Where The Action Is instead really got me instantly.

This is an odd one for me. I really want to like it but it is all over the place. It sounds too much like U2 & Coldplay and not enough like The Alarm … it is just so inconsistent. For the most part it is just a rehash of the songs on the Blood Red & Viral Black CDs from a few years back. I am seeing the tour in a couple of weeks. Maybe that will help convince me!
