What are you listening to (3)? (Part 1)

^ same.

3rd run through today. Not a huge Dream Theater fan but liking this a lot. Midnight Messiah sounds a tad Metallica-ish to me. The opening reminded me of Queensryche and the “Wake Up” at the end of the album … is that a nod to ‘Waking the Witch’?

Edit: Was impressed enough to grab a copy at lunchtime … time to turn it up!

I always check out Dream Theater stuff because they’re talked about so much on all the Prog channels I follow on YouTube. It’s interesting but just not for me.

I’ve never been the biggest fan so probably not the best person to judge. I’ve not bought a DT album for a long, long time and rarely listen to the ones I have. Listened to the new one as I now have access to Tidal so streamed the album, otherwise wouldn’t have bothered.

It’s ok. It’s obviously Dream Theater. A bit too widdly diddly for my liking (but aren’t all their albums)

I was once offered free tickets to one of their Detroit shows and I turned them down. That’s how much of a fan I am. But if offered to me now I would probably go… maybe!
