Hopefully Marillion Weekend in Port Zelande.
Registered today, so fingers crossed we get accepted, though our group have been for every PZ convention since my first in 2011, so I’m hopeful.

Andy,
Having had NEC tickets I declined these as he’s put the price up. If you can’t sell the original venue this action is taking the p***
Just bought ticket for BBT ![]()
Poor old Paul bet he has expecting a quiet night to himself
, now we’re gonna drag him round the quality watering holes of Mancunia (there are some cracking old boozers there tbh)

Looking forward to this. ![]()
Saturday 16th May, Beat Generator Dundee - Stilmarillion
Saturday 30th May, Port Moody Legion Club, Port Moody, British Columbia - Gift Shop ( Tragically Hip Tribute )
Sunday 31st May, Rogers Arena, Vancouver - Black Keys
Busy May!
I knew we were going to see Black Keys after we arrive in Vancouver, but my cousin has mixed up dates and got tickets for the Gift Shop gig on the 30th. We fly at 12:00 UK time, a 11 - 12 hour flight. Arrive in Vancouver. Time for a shit, shower and shave and then drive 40miles to a gig. I think I am gonna be awake for more than 24 hours.
Also going to see Maiden tonight: in Walsall!
Went to see this last night. It was ok. I found myself feeling a bit emotional at Nicko`s bit.
I really enjoyed it. It was obviously more about the connection to the fans than the relationship between the band members or how they collaborated in creating music. It was really a celebration of the global IM fandom. It would be kinda difficult to squeeze 50 years of history into a film that’s less than 2 hours so shifting the focus actually worked for me. Being critical, the timeline jumped around a bit and was not in chronological order. They frequently showed live footage from later tours when talking about an earlier period in time. Also there were a few things omitted that for me are essential to the story. The SIT and SSOASS era was not covered, even though it was their peak in terms of popularity. Derek Riggs was only briefly named yet he was instrumental in helping to create the bands identity. Surprised he wasn’t one of the people interviewed (unless he declined). Martin Birch’s contribution wasn’t mentioned. There were a few funny moments… “no synthesizer in metal” made me chuckle given what came later (SIT). Glad I saw it on the big screen and will watch it again when the Blu-ray appears (I’ve already preordered it after Amazon leaked it yesterday before it opened in the cinemas!).
My QOTD is why were all the long term fans wearing virtually brand new T-shirts? Surely if you’re a long standing fan your T-shirt has been worn endlessly, washed and is now a little faded and lived in?
I liked Javier Bardem reading the lyrics.
