Big Big Train have announced that the band will be performing their lateststudio album, Woodcut, in full during their tour of the UK and Europe in September
and October this year.
“When we had finished recording Woodcut, we hoped that we would have the opportunity to play the whole album live,” lead vocalist Alberto Bravin says. “Now that a few months have passed since its release, the hugely positive response to Woodcut from fans and critics alike has convinced us to go ahead and play a Big Big Train album live from start to finish for the first time ever.”
The band have also commissioned Crystal Spotlight – who were responsible for the videos which accompanied the three singles from Woodcut (The Artist, The Sharpest Blade and Counting Stars) – to create films for the rest of the album. The band expect to screen these films at all of their UK shows except Birmingham and Glasgow. Over the summer they will announce which continental European shows will feature the films.
“We will also be performing over an hour of other material on this tour from our back catalogue,” adds drummer Nick D’Virgilio. “We will be playing some of our best-known songs as well as two or three lost classics, including material never previously played live. We can’t wait to see everyone on the road.”
Will she be wearing that at the gig?
