I really enjoyed the Roger Waters Wall film last night, totally unexpected (as hadn’t seen trailer) Not just the concert but a journey made to his father’s resting place in Italy (who he lost in the war) which was inter mingled within the footage.
A very moving story, very similar background to Fish 's "High Wood Suite " that really brought home the reality of war, and really what’s the fucking point of it ???
I would fully recommend this film, on its dvd release.
Dvd released November 16th (and has been pre-ordered).
As much as i’d like to see the documentary side of the dvd, i can’t see me wanting to give it multiple viewings. Would have preferred a concert only release of The Wall tour.
I thought the same Steve but the documentary side of it was quite minimal, but fitted in well with the concert footage.
There was a funny Q&A session at the end of the film that brought some light relief though with Roger and Nick Mason.
It’s been announced on Roger Waters Facebook (with preview video) that a double cd of The Wall will be released same day as the dvd. Also a ‘Super Deluxe’ version with details of it’s content announced next week (from tje video it looks like vinyl is included which rules me out - i’d like it to include ‘concert only’ blu-ray) :-
