The last gig you went to

Iron Maiden in Birmingham on the first night of the (brief) UK tour. As close as you’ll get to a greatest hits set, fantastic show and astonishingly hot in the NIA. I looked like I’d been standing in the rain for two hours I was that soaked.

And one sight that I never ever ever ever want to see again. As we walked out the crowd in front of us parted and on the floor was a pair of knickers and a pile of poo.

Thanks for that image.

Shocking! Didn`t even shit in a carrier bag.

Iron Maiden at OVO Hydro, Glasgow. They were pretty good but not brilliant. Also at £45 for a T-shirt, they can ram that right up Eddie`s chocolate star!

“Juliets not dead photo” with me dead centre 8f you can make me out lol…

A Terrific night with 4 great bands.
Juliets Not Dead opened the show about 6.30 this as previously mentioned i had seen quoted as 1 to watch out for and i can say they were definitely right.
Lyin Rampant were on at about 7.30 another great band that i hadn’t heard of or seen before but they have seemingly been around for a long time.
Glasgow were on at about 8.30 A few tracks i remembered from bk in the day, but these guys still have it in abundance, as i also sa8d previously these guys supported some big names bk in the 80s / 90s cant think why they never made it to the next level probably too much American competition and hairspray/make up which these guys dont do but just good honest hard rock.
Heavy Pettin were on stage about 9.30
Again these guys still have it and more, might not be the original line up, but a big shout out to Hamie and the 2 guys on guitars theyre all round play was brilliant especially with solos interacting and swapping solo plays mid songs.
This morning i woke up and maybe even just now my ears are still ringing maybe that was something down to me being in the front row but i guess you know youve been to a great gig when that happens.

As for the venue “The Slay” is definitely a decent venue it reminds me of the “Liquid rooms” in Edinburgh. It hold a max of 550 dont get me wrong this wasn’t sold out but probably down to poor advertising as i only seen it come up on fb a week ago, nevertheless probably about 400 there and i guess all late comers like myself as my ticket was 131 and only booked that at 7pm on Friday night.
Was it worth the £20 definitely, you be hard pushed to get a Great band and support for that nowadays never mind 4.
The “Slay” i would definitely go bk to probably only downside they dont do draught but you can by cans of lager etc like Stella, Red stripe, Tennants etc as well as the normal spirits bit on the dear side at £5.50 a pop so best to have a few elsewhere before hand.
Picked up 4 cds bit disappointed there was no Glasgow material for sale either that or i missed it come thf end of thr night.
Got 1 Heavy Pettin 4 trk cd, 1 Lyin Rampant cd and 2 Juilets Not Dead cds of which i will be listening to in due course.

N.B.☆ Also of note Hamie from Heavy Pettin anounced they have just signed a new record deal and a forth coming album is nearly finished called " Rock n Roll Generation" of which they played about 4 trks from last night.

Next up for me atm is Magnum in October at the Garage.

I’ve seen them a couple of times when they used to be Twister, not sure why the name change or the differenece in the music is!

I’ve only ever seen Bryan Adams once before. All the way back to 1991 supporting ZZ Top in Milton Keynes Bowl.

Connor Liam Byrne & The Bad Kissers at Beat Generator, Dundee last night. Support bands were nothing to write home about. Connor and band were very good. Album tracks stood up well in a live setting. Only £10 for a ticket too.

I played a 2p fruit machine with him and a roadie in a grotty pub close to the Brighton Centre what seems like thousands of years ago!!

Auri in Oulu tonight was a lovely experience. There was also a funny moment before the gig. I was standing there with my Fish hoodie on when a gentleman came to me and said “nice shirt” and smiled. I thanked and he told that he is a friend of Derek and was just recently visiting him in Berneray. :grinning: We talked a bit, he told that Derek is very busy with all things to do and laughed that he is a crazy person.

Really looking forward to this.
So you were allowed to take pictures then from the looks of it !
Was there an opportunity to meet them after the gig Lauri ?

I personally didn’t see ot hear anything that told it was prohibited but I understood it was not recommended to take photos or videos to not disturb the atmosphere. But because of our front row seats it was easy to take a few quick shots.

We were in a hurry to drive back home so we didn’t wait and see if they came to meet the public later.

Bob Log III in Telakka, Tampere. This was really something else! A one man band with lots of activities. Enjoyed it, I just went there when noticed this gig just a few hours before nearby our hotel.
