The last gig you went to

That first photo is great - looking straight down the lens.

Looking every bit the ‘rock star’ :star_struck::star_struck::star_struck:

Were you sat on the stage Lauri? Any closer and you’d be part of the band.

 Leaning on the stage in the first row. Not much closer could be possible. We were early birds and got there straight when the doors opened.

Maybe surprise you all by saying I went to see Paul Carrack at Edinburgh Playhouse last night. Man his band can glide and groove.

Two drummers akin to Genesis with Phil Collins and Chester Thompson. Stellar contributions from the rest of the band. Paul Carrack has such a great voice. Plus the added bonus of the great Robbie McIntosh on guitar ( His CV is unbelievable ).

I hadnt been in the Playhouse for over 30 years. It used to be the place where I saw most of my gigs. Walked into the Stalls and started pointing out where my seats were for Marillion, Maiden, Ozzy, Kiss. Quo etc. Nowadays it is the main Scottish venue for West End shows with the odd gig like last night. For a few moments I felt like a kid again. Then to top it off, sitting in front of me was a friend I hadnt seen for almost 20 years.

Today before the train home was a walk down to Leith and a wee trip further down memory lane.

3rd gig of the month for me last night -

Lucy Spraggan at Dundee Music Hall.

Chewed up and spat out by the X Factor in 2012, hers is an incredible story. She writes from that place that the best songs come from, the adversity faced in life. Her song, “ Uninspired, “ lyrically sits on the same shelf as something like “ Raw Meat “ by Fish or “ Running On Empty “ by Jackson Browne.

Main support act ( there were 2 ) were a band from Leeds called, The Dunwells. These are two brothers whose harmonies and melodies remind me of The Lone Bellow or Kelly Jones side project Far From Saints.
